Water Lilies
But these films I just hate. Throughout the whole picture, the author's desire to show the viewer a kind of art-house was evident. That is, cinema is not for everyone, but only for those who can feel and catch a special aesthetics that does not exist.
That is why everyone here speaks little, creates strange things that do not correspond to reality, sometimes conduct abstruse dialogues, show for a long time how beautiful water gymnastics looks, they want to look not quite sane, leave a feeling of incompleteness.
And if you look at it, everything is clear as day. Absolutely formulaic idea, with formulaic situations typical for films ala sophistication. It is boring, dry, and still emanates from this picture with emptiness. The heroines go here and there, and this is annoying. The motives, feelings that drive them are completely incomprehensible. Even beautiful and specific shots do not help. If I want to look at water gymnastics, I can find 1000 rollers and admire them. If I want to admire a beautiful girl, there are enough pictures of them on the internet.
I expected som Water Lilies ething different from the picture. An honest and tough look at the process of growing up, learning about the world, as well as disclosing the topic of unrequited love, which is very difficult. Excuse me! Here the author also tried to demonstrate how hard it is when your love is used for personal gain. But it turned out badly, sluggishly.
Two nondescript ugly girlfriends love the beauty and the handsome from the swimming group. Ugly girlfriends simply amaze with their stupidity and absurdity. It seems that the objects of desire are quietly laughing at them, or even indifferent. One is so closed that it is difficult to believe that a self-confident, pretty beauty paid attention to her. It's hard to look at them! Especially on the main character, who makes you want to sleep. Her girlfriend knows how to make me laugh from time to time. But, this does not save the film.
The ugly heroine walks with an absolutely indifferent expression on her face, no intensity, no complex emotions, her face, and the words spoken do not express. It seems that she's just bored. And in order to somehow diversify her everyday life, she decided to make friends with the most beautiful girl that everyone hates. And now she follows her on her heels, and the viewer is not even clear to the end what makes her drawn to her. Just kill, you don't see interest, love, and passion. Let's remember the feelings of Piper Perabo's character in Lost and Mad. After all, heaven and earth! And this is terribly annoying.
And how could she love her if she saw only a couple of times from the side? No love is visible here! Has purely external data played a key role? At the same time, the beauty is selfish, uses her adoration. Although, how she guessed that she was in love with her, remains a big mystery. The film is so laconic. And she does not owe her anything. After all, no one swore oaths to each other. What I really don't like about films like this is this approach. Everyone chooses to be humiliated, reptile, or not to him. And if no one promised anything, did not give any hope, but was honest, then it is inappropriate to be offended. It is inappropriate to make a drama out of this if he himself went to humiliation and made a laughing stock out of himself (like the girlfriend of the main character) from the very beginning.
I am not comparing this movie to Lost and Mad in any way. For there is a completely different story. And love there is genuine, and the struggle for it can in no way be called humiliation. But rather despair and the right decision.
Here is sheer humiliation. For what? To prove to yourself that you can hang out with the cool and beautiful while being nondescript?
For a beauty and a handsome man, communicating with ugly girls is just a way to kill time, or, again, to speak out to someone about your problems.
The beauty is narcissistic, therefore, no one really loves her, but only madly wants to possess. That's all!
I would not say that the film is about love. Rather, about the first experience, the first knowledge of ourselves. At the age of fifteen, I was also secretly in love with my best friend, she recently dreamed of me. At this age, it is always important to feel someone's warmth nearby, someone's recognition, be it a close friend or a random guy, you want to feel someone else's affection and your own need. And this need for recognition pushes teenagers to such nonsense, as
