2019 other make
You might think the 2019 Avalon is just another big, boring Toyota sedan that only Florida retirees buy. Alas, but this is exactly the image of all past generations of this model in the United States. However, looking at the new fifth generation of the Japanese four-door, you will understand that now the Avalon has a different mission.
Here is the new 2019 Toyota Avalon Touring in one of four equipment levels in which the car is offered in the North American market. Along with the more affordable XSE variant, our test sedan is the exact opposite of the Avalon you thought you knew. Aggressive appearance, sporty character and excellent handling - this is what is different in it from the Avalon familiar to many of you in XLE and Limited versions. The last two best match the status and image that the car has cultivated over the years.
Could the new Toyota Avalon be a relatively fun and sporty car, and what kind of smoke do you see in the rearview mirrors? Surprisingly, the ans 2019 other make wer to the first question is yes.
The list price for the 2019 Toyota Avalon starts at $35,500, which is the highest price tag of any comparable luxury full-size sedans. The most affordable in this segment is the Ford Taurus for at least $27,800, while the Nissan Maxima and Kia Cadenza, with starting prices of $33,950 and $32,290 respectively, are closer to Avalon. In fact, there is nothing clear and obvious that would justify a higher starting price for a large Toyota sedan. Especially when you consider that good alternatives like the Buick LaCrosse and Chrysler 300 can be had for less than $30,000.
As we have already said, we got the Toyota Avalon for testing in the Touring version, costing from $42,200. Of the options in it, only the Advanced Safety package for $1150, which includes front and rear parking sensors, a surround view system, and a collision warning function when reversing with automatic braking.
The full cost of our Avalon Touring with adaptive suspension, Toyota Entune 3.0 multimedia system, navigation, JBL acoustics, active noise cancellation, as well as an aggressive front end, aft spoiler and black exterior accents is $44,913.
Some will say the Avalon Touring is ugly, but we love it. In this configuration, as in the less expensive XSE, the sedan looks aggressive and sporty. Compared to the much more elegant-looking XLE and Limited versions, our Touring seems obscenely brash. Yes, its grille is ridiculously huge and at the same time only a small part of it passes air under the hood to cool the engine. But she draws attention to herself and to the car. And the otherwise quite attractive design of this Toyota is unlikely to cause outrage among people with good taste.
But to fully appreciate the appearance of the new Avalon Touring is hardly possible even after viewing several hundred photos of it or seeing the sedan from afar. Only close to your eyes will the protrusions of body panels, sharp corners and edges open, which, when crossing, form interesting surfaces that are visible only when you are near the car. I also want to praise this four-door Toyota for four real chrome pipes, which are really part of the exhaust system, and not some kind of imitation.
The interior of the Avalon is far less controversial than its exterior, and is commended for its attractive and ergonomic design. For example, the infotainment system's large 9-inch touchscreen display is integral with the floating center section of the dashboard, which curves elegantly into the center console. On the sides of the screen are eight familiar buttons (four on each side) and two rotary knobs that allow you to give commands to the multimedia system not only through the touch surface of the display.
And now for the comfort. The Touring version transforms the Avalon from a soft home sofa into a firmer and more resilient office chair. In this configuration, the sedan is equipped with special front seats with many adjustments. The increased stiffness of the adaptive suspension has a positive effect on improving the feeling of the road for the driver, but it is not so good at absorbing road surface defects. Yes, and the sound of the engine in the Touring cabin is heard more strongly, including due to the V6 added to the real sound, synthesized through the speakers of the audio system.
Despite the fact that the Avalon Touring, for all its features, is still a comfortable full-size sedan with enough room for four adults, in the XLE and Limited trim levels it will still be pr
